Event description:

Approved Britcham Logo_500What will an increasingly connected digital economy really mean for business? And what role does the digitalisation of companies in ‘traditional industries’ play, compared to that of digitally born tech start-ups, as a means to increase competitiveness? What can a more Digital Belgium learn from other economies, and how does that play into where Europe’s digital agenda currently is and should be heading?

In April, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander De Croo presented his Digital Belgium plan. By 2020 the plan aims to get Belgium into the digital top three of the European Digital Economy and Society Index, for 1,000 new start-ups to take root in Belgium and for the digital revolution to deliver 50,000 new jobs in a variety of sectors.

At this exclusive business breakfast, De Croo will present some of the plan’s main aspects and discuss the role business plays in achieving the Digital Belgium objectives. De Croo’s key note will be followed by remarks from international businesses in emerging as well as mature industries.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s keynote will be followed by digital business perspectives from Filip Nuytemans, General Manager of UBER and from Bart Verbeeck, Sales Director of G4S.
