Description: Companies constantly need to improve and/or renew to survive in the ever changing business environment. With the world supposedly recovering from its economic downturn, what are the opportunities for companies within this environment to grow? Will the focus be even more on sustainability? Next to this, what is the role of networking within this environment? And what are the differences in the implementation of this form of communication within different kinds of organisations, such as NGOs, MNCs and governments?
STAR: This conference is organised by STAR, the Study Association of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, as part of the 24th edition of the STAR Management Week. The event offers students various inspiring stories from politicians, CEOs and academics.

The keynote speakers will share their thoughts on management issues in the past, present and future. Companies constantly need to improve and/or renew to survive in the ever changing business environment. With the world supposedly recovering from its economic downturn, what are the opportunities for companies within this environment to grow? Will the focus be even more on sustainability? Next to this, what is the role of networking within this environment? And what are the differences in the implementation of this form of communication within different kinds of organisations, such as NGOs, MNCs and governments?

The conference is organised as part of the 24th edition of the STAR Management Week. The event offers students various inspiring stories from politicians, CEOs and academics. World-class entrepreneurs will also share their thoughts and experiences with participants during the Entrepreneurial Seminar on 25 October 2010. Marlies Dekkers (founder of marlies|dekkers), Marc van der Chijs (co-founder of tudou.com and CEO of Spil Games Asia), Harald Swinkels (co-founder of De Nederlandse Energie Maatschappij), Walter Peteri (co-founder of Quooker and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009), Bob Ultee (founder of Sabon Nederland) and Igor Milder (CEO of Lost Boys) will talk about how they turned their visions into reality.
