AIESEC Hyderabad brought the world together at Sampradaya Vedika in the evening of Monday, August 23rd. The event, popularized by the name Global Village 2010, indicated the commencement of the 62nd AIESEC International Congress. As an exception to the general trend, large crowds were invited to an event which has never before been accessible to the public.

The theme being “Breaking Boundaries, Creating Bonds”, Global Village 2010 was an initiative that encouraged over 700 international youth leaders to present the lifestyle, culture, and traditions of their own nations. 100+ countries each raised a stall or counter, the purpose being to describe the food, music, and other such aspects of their individual nations. The cuisine samples were an array of unparalleled variety, and the on-stage country performances had the entire crowd dancing along, enraptured.
The event drew an immense amount of media presence, with major newspapers, TV channels, electronic media houses, and magazines arriving either from the International Congress inauguration at the Marriott Convention Center, or solely for Global Village. MTV was at hand to cover the event, along with VJ Jose and the Whacked-Out Awards he presented.
With over 40,000 members in more than one-hundred countries, AIESEC is the world’s largest youth-run organization. It provides a platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potentials. By facilitating international internships, AIESEC provides its members the opportunity to become truly global citizens and live in the diversity all around us. This occurrence will undoubtedly linger in the minds of each and every attendee and participant, as the likes of Global Village 2010 have never been encountered by the city of Hyderabad in the past. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the event created an imprint that left no doubt in terms of its undeniable exclusivity. After all, there’s no sensation like touring the world in an hour, without having to step outside your very own city! 🙂
The AIESEC Global Village was followed by the AIESEC International Congress “Global Youth to Business Forum”, on 26 august 2010 , Hyderabad India.
