During the two-days conference participants will enjoy interesting speeches, passionate panel discussions and challenging workshops.

The tenth New Year’s Conference will be held on January 14 & 15, 2010 under the topic “Finance 2020 – Perspectives on Tomorrow’s Markets”.

Speakers
Our speakers are outstanding managers, renowned academics and well-known politicians. The variety of speakers combines a fact-based expertise with innovative ideas and a highly practice oriented approach. Since 2000, the New Year’s conference welcomed notable personalities such as Jean Claude Trichet (President of the European Central Bank), Peter Wuffli (former CEO of UBS), Hans Eichel (former German Minister of Finance) and Rolf Breuer (former CEO Deutsche Bank).

The 10th anniversary of the Campus for Finance – New Year’s Conference will be a highlight: Three Nobel laureates, Axel Weber (President of the German Central Bank), Dame Furse (former Chief Executive of the London Stock Exchange) and many other keynote speakers will attend the New Year’s Conference 2010.

Participants
An inspiring lecture atmosphere, personal contacts and networking, interaction and a highly stimulating environment are waiting for the participants of the New Year’s Conference.

In the past, more than 2000 excellent students most of them close to graduation applied for the conference. Participants from all over the world come to experience our conference.

Finance 2020 – Perspectives on Tomorrow’s Markets
Each year, we choose a topic that provides a framework for a wide range of speeches and opinions. During the last months, the world of finance has experienced unsteady times so that forecasts have become more difficult than ever. These turmoils did not limit themselves to the financial markets, but hit the real economy soon.

During our conference in January 2010, we dare take a glance to a changing future. How will tomorrow’s markets look like? How will the financial crisis influence the financial markets in the short and, maybe an even more challenging question, in the long term? Will the financial markets see a backward evolution or will this be the moment of birth for new markets, instruments and structures?

When discussing future markets, we cannot limit ourselves to the financial markets as they interact directly with the real economy. At the moment, risk, liquidity and cost management questions arise more urgently than ever for all industries. In an environment of uncertainty and suspiciousness, loans are more difficult to obtain, thus financing is the key issue for everybody at the moment. Sustainable and innovative management is on top of the agenda of most companies.

Despite the current outlook, could you imagine the rise of opportunities for growth in the downturn? Innovations will become a key issue of the conference.

Governments all over the world map out strategies to support the financial and real markets. The new/ renewed influence of governments shapes the markets. Increased regulation seems to be the global consensus.
